TWEAK CMD COLORS ON YOUR PROJECTS

Remember we have started on CMD projects from my earlier blogs. Now is the time we actually tweak them. I apologize the pink color is not featured here. However, this will change the look of how your CMD presentations display.

Let's start on by changing the CMD text colors.

on your project just below @echo off, type "color 1 - F" as desired. see list of colors tomorrow.

0 = Black
1 = Blue
2 = Green
3 = Aqua
4 = Red
5 = Purple
6 = Yellow
7 = White
8 = Grey
9 = Light Blue
A = Light Green
B = Light Aqua
C = Light Red
D = Light purpose
E = Light yellow
F = Bright white

Knowing the above codes for the text colors, hereto referred as foreground, we are going to learn how to create background colors for CMD. This simply requires a combination of 2 different codes after color string is entered. Observe

"color 7C"   This code will generate a White Background color with a Light Red text.

You tweak around with the combinations as you want and observe the funny colorful CMD presentation projects.

The color command sets error level 1 if an attempt is made to execute the color command with a foreground and background color that are the same.
